The abe-Industrietechnik GmbH was founded in March 2005. The cornerstone of this company, however, was laid much earlier by the company founders Andreas and Kerstin Bräuer, who produced the first lamella shunts and copper braids in a small village in the Erzgebirge region in 1993. By 2006, the production and office areas of the abe-Industrietechnik GmbH had grown to 1100 m².
In the ensuing years, the machinery expanded steadily. Significant milestones included the purchase of EDM machinery, advanced CNC machines, strip welding units, hydraulic presses, blanking units, lamella splitting machines, and projection welding machines. The firm has been in its new location since 2014.
The move was necessary to provide sufficient space to house the expanded machinery and personnel. Moreover, the new location allows for further expansion in the future. The new buildings offer 2400 m² of production and office space altogether. After the move, among others, a 5-axis-CNC machine, a 200 t hydraulic cable press and cranes for heavy coils were purchased. Another extension of the machinery is expected to support future company development.
